Some of the tools are not as important as the link text or the title tags but their presence is often felt in the page ranking and search engine optimization process. One of them is the keywords. Keywords are never treated as such by any of the search engines as they consider them part of the text. Yet they play a vital role in optimizing your search and giving you the rank since the matching keywords typed by the visitor redirects him through the search engine to your site. If you put a bunch of such relevant keywords in your engine the results will be good for you.

Contrary to the common belief it is not necessary to separate key phrases from the keywords with comma since the search engines ignores the comma. Since the H tags get priority over the n tags, you should try to put the target search item in the H tags as per as practicable at the rate of one per page. Always try to put the H tag in close proximity to the top of the page. It is one of the tested tricks of the website search engine optimization.

Another method for optimizing search engine results is the use of bold text. Though they are not as powerful as the H tags, they are given better attention than the ordinary text. Enclosing search items in to bold tags might give good results in terms of search engine rankings.

When it comes to adding graphics, sound, animation, Java applets, borders, and backgrounds to web design pages, you have to find a good balance. Websites with too much typically do not see the same level of success as those designed with a more simplistic approach. The best option is to create a professional and interesting website while making sure the pages do not load slowly, which can be done. To help you get started, we wanted to provide you with some great tips for finding that perfect balance between a robust appearance and a fast website.

With all websites, especially ecommerce sites, you need to reach the largest audience possible. To accomplish this, we recommend any of the following:

  • Avoid putting a lot of text in a single, big block. Instead, you will get more out of the site by separating text into paragraphs, each with white space in between.
  • Although you could use a colored background, you will get more response from your readers by using a simple white or even off-white background, coupled with black text. A slight variation to this would be using blue text.
  • If you decide to go with a colored background for your web design
  • pages, make sure it is clear when viewed as 256 colors.
  • Keep graphics files small by decreasing the number of colors in each of the graphics or actually decreasing the graphic itself.
  • If you use animation on your website, make sure the background is not repeated in every frame and decrease the number of frames
